Who should visit Romania

EU membership will bring the budget airlines to Romania and open up possibilities for Romania as a short break destination.

The Danube Delta area is a must for bird watchers and anglers. It is also a good destination for those who want a back to nature, or back in time experience.

The mountain areas offer wonderful scenery and historic towns and buildings, as well as winter skiing.

There are coach tours offering the opportunity to see a good selection of the sights. Our preference is for a two centre holiday using Brasov and Somova as a base for excursions.

Families with children:

Although it isn’t usually thought of as a family destination, our children love Romania. What child can visit the Dracula sites without being thrilled by the story and the real life character that Dracula was based upon?

Children are also likely to be thrilled by the sight of a flock of pelicans in the Danube Delta area. If staying at eastern Romania be sure to take the children to Constanta to the zoo, dolphinarium and aquarium and to take in the Mamaia fun fair as well. Another possible trip is to the city of Galati: Although this is a modern city, rebuilt after almost total destruction during the war, there is a popular leisure complex by the Danube.

Night life:

Bucharest is noted for it’s nightlife. There is also good nightlife at Brasov and other larger cities.

Restaurant prices are low by west European standards.
